Making Learning More Playful
Goodness approached Studio ABD to create DIY learning experiences that could introduce children to basic concepts of electronics, mechanics and problem-solving through play. The challenge was to make these concepts approachable without making the experience feel like a lesson. The idea was to create products that encouraged children to build, experiment and understand how things work by engaging with them directly.

Building Through Play
Studio ABD developed a series of hands-on DIY kits, each built around a playful character or activity. PocketMon introduces children to circuits, conductivity and simple applications of motors, while RoboWalk turns basic electronics into a walking robot. Snake uses a simple motorised mechanism to create movement, while Treasure Chest introduces combinations and personalised passwords through a playful pirate-themed experience. Each kit brings together components, assembly and interaction in a way that makes the process of building part of the experience.

Learning by Making
The kits turn abstract concepts into something children can see, assemble and interact with. Instead of simply explaining how electricity, circuits or mechanisms work, the products allow children to discover these principles through experimentation. The result is a learning experience where making and playing happen together, encouraging curiosity, problem-solving and a better understanding of how everyday mechanisms work.
